This is a little note for those who do not know how to use a startup screen document. And it also explains the difference between the two documents.
It's quite simple, move either "Normal Trashcan", or "IBM Trashcan", or "TigerScreen", to your System folder, and rename it "StartupScreen" (without the quotes).
The "IBM Trashcan" is for those of you how have downloaded file #6929 ("TRASH ICONS.SIT"), and are using it. The "Normal Trashcan" is for those who are using the standard trash can icon that Apple has built in. I've also included a picture of a tiger which makes probably the prettiest Startup/Desktop I've ever seen: it's the only one that gets lots of great comments from people (even IBM owners) when I bring my Mac to work.
If you are using a hard drive, or another type of trash icon, you'll have to modify the "Trashcan" screens to fit your icons.
The real fun with these startup screens begins when you use them as desktop patterens too. They'll drive you crazy!
If you want to make any StartupScreen into a desktop, you'll need file #1450 ("STARTUP.PIT"), and RESedit.
